How can knowledge transcend disciplinary boundaries and become a source of spiritual insight, personal growth, and social transformation?
This book explores this question through the framework of 5D Thinking, inspired by a Tawhidi worldview that seeks to reconnect knowledge, faith, human experience, and the universe within an integrated vision of reality. Drawing on insights gained from the Transformative Teaching Workshop: Level 1, 5D Thinking Essentials, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture on December 22–26, 2025, this volume brings together ten chapters written by lecturers of Antasari State University, Banjarmasin, from diverse academic backgrounds.
The book is organized into four thematic categories. The first establishes the theological and methodological foundations of 5D Thinking, examining Qur'anic interpretation, spiritual reflection on nature, and disability-inclusive higher education. The second explores psychological and existential dimensions, highlighting the roles of husnuzhan (positive and trusting thinking), sunnatullah (the divine laws governing creation), and meaning-centered approaches to healing. The third offers sociological reflections on re-sacralizing the universe and addressing secularization in Muslim educational systems, drawing on experiences in the Middle East and Türkiye. The fourth demonstrates practical applications in education, from English language teaching and accounting education to Tawhid-based pedagogy informed by the thought of Bediuzzaman Said Nursi and Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas.
Bringing theology into dialogue with psychology, sociology, and educational practice, this book presents 5D Thinking as more than an intellectual framework. It offers an integrative approach to understanding reality, cultivating wisdom, and transforming educational practices through a deeper awareness of the relationship between Allah as the Creator, humanity, and the universe.
